Brian Wilson came in to close out the 9th and the Rangers didn’t stand a chance.

The Giants became NL West Champions on Sunday behind a great performance by Jonathan Sanchez, not only from his excellent pitching, but from the run he scored after hitting a triple in the 3rd inning.
The Padres are now officially eliminated from the playoffs and the Atlanta Braves are the NL Wild Card winners.

The Giants beat the Arizona Diamondbacks tonight to take a 2.0 game lead in the NL West over the San Diego Padres.
Jonathan Sanchez was solid and so was the Giants’ lineup.
The Rockies lost again and are officially eliminated from playoff contention.
The Giants are 89-68 and have 2 games left against Arizona, and then a 3-game series at home against the Padres to finish off the season.
The Giants gained more ground in the NL West on their off-day Monday as the Rockies lost to the Dodgers 3-1 and the Padres lost to the Cubs 1-0.
The Padres are now 1.0 game behind the Giants and the Rockies are 5.0 back.
The Giants open up a 6-game homestand to finish up the season on Tuesday against the Diamondbacks.
Comcast Sports Bay Area is reporting that Andres Torres went to the hospital this morning for an appendectomy.
Torres is expected to be out of the line-up for at least 10 days.
